Fast, professional, reasonable price. They talked me into using a tinted / tempered piece of glass instead of the thin clear glass they replaced.... very glad I went with their suggestion. Very neat / clean demo and install. I would recommend this company without hesitation. Other glass company estimate was ridiculously high compared to what Sav-on charged me.

Glass Repair & Screen Services in Westminster, CA

Save-On Glass & Screen repairs and replaces window glass, screens, shower enclosures, mirrors, and tabletop glass for homes and businesses around Westminster, CA. We take our own measurements and our own installers set the finished piece; the fabrication happens at our shop at 7793 Westminster Blvd. One call covers the whole job: (714) 893-4275, and estimates are free. The business has operated since 1971, under California glazing license #766159 (C-17) since 1999.

Repair or Replace?

Many calls start with the same question: does the whole unit need to be replaced, or can it be repaired? Usually the smaller job is the right one.
  • Fog or condensation trapped between the panes of a dual-pane window means the factory seal has failed. Cleaning can't reach it. The insulated glass unit (IGU) gets replaced; the frame and the rest of the window stay.
  • A cracked single pane is a glass-only replacement in your existing frame.
  • A torn or bellied screen takes new mesh in the frame you already own, as long as the frame is straight.
  • A sliding door that drags or grinds usually needs new rollers, not new glass.
If none of those fit what you're looking at, call and describe it.

Window Glass Repair and Dual-Pane Replacement

We replace broken window glass in place: the old pane comes out of the frame, the new one goes in, and the window you own stays on the wall. For dual-pane windows, fog between the panes means the sealed unit has failed, and we replace the IGU rather than the whole window. Glass in doors and beside tubs has to be tempered by building code, and matching the right glass to the opening is what a C-17 glazing license is for. We measure the opening ourselves before anything is cut, because a pane cut a sixteenth of an inch off will not seat properly. We do this work at homes in Westminster and in Garden Grove and Huntington Beach.

Screens and Screen Doors

We rescreen window and door frames with new mesh, and we build screens to size: heavy-duty sliding screen doors, single- and double-entry screen doors, pet screens and pet doors, security screen doors, and sunscreens. Pet screen is a heavier mesh that stands up to claws. Sunscreens cut the heat coming through west-facing glass. If your frame is straight, a rescreen brings the screen back without replacing it; if the frame is bent, we build a new one to the same opening. We take screen jobs in Fountain Valley and Los Alamitos as well as Westminster.

Shower Doors and Tub Enclosures

We build custom-made and standard shower and tub enclosures, with framed or frameless doors. Clear glass keeps a small bathroom feeling open; obscure glass gives privacy without a curtain, and patterned obscure glass is available if you ask at the shop. Hardware comes in several finishes, chrome and oil-rubbed bronze among them. When we replace an enclosure, we remove the old one and dispose of it. Worn sweeps and seals on an existing door get replaced without new glass. Enclosure installs run through Irvine and Newport Beach alongside Westminster.

Sliding and Patio Door Service

A patio door that is hard to slide usually isn't a glass problem. Rollers wear flat, and the door drags in its track. We replace patio door rollers and door hardware, and when the pane itself is cracked or fogged, we replace the glass in the door you have. Sliding door calls come in from Anaheim and Orange as well as Westminster.

Mirrors, Wardrobe Doors, and Cabinet Glass

We cut and install wall mirrors and mirrored walls, sized to the wall they'll hang on rather than bought in stock sheets. Mirrored wardrobe and closet doors are measured and installed the same way. For hutches and built-ins, we supply cabinet door glass. Mirror work takes us to Costa Mesa and Tustin regularly.

Storefront and Commercial Glass

We replace storefront glass and handle glass and screen work for businesses: shops, offices, and the storefronts in between. Storefront panes run much larger than residential glass, and we fabricate, deliver, and install them from our own shop. Commercial jobs get the same free estimate and are done under the same license.

Glass Cut to Size

We also cut individual pieces of glass to size for tabletops and cabinet doors. Bring the dimensions to our shop at 7793 Westminster Blvd, or bring the old piece and we'll match it, even if it's chipped.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my dual-pane window look foggy?
The seal on the insulated glass unit has failed and moisture has worked in between the panes. It can't be cleaned from either side. The sealed unit gets replaced; your window frame stays where it is.

Do I need to replace the whole window?
Usually not. Broken or fogged glass is replaced within your existing frame. A full window replacement is for frames that are damaged beyond reuse, and most of what comes through our door doesn't need it.

Can a torn screen be fixed without buying a new one?
Yes, if the frame is straight. We fit new mesh into your existing frame. Bent frames get rebuilt to the same size.

Do you come out to the house?
Yes. Measuring and installation happen at your home or business. Screens and loose pieces of glass can also be brought straight to the shop.

What does an estimate cost?
Nothing. Estimates are free, by phone at (714) 893-4275 or at the shop.

Are you licensed?
Yes. California contractor license #766159, C-17 Glazing, active since 1999. You can look it up on the CSLB license check site.
